We arrived on the afternoon of February 8th. It was very foggy and the temperatures were mild. The sun came out on Wednesday and it went up to 50 degrees. We saw a Northern Shrike and a Rough-legged Hawk at the Freeland Road boardwalk. There was also obvious beaver activity. As it got dark, the temperatures fell and the winds picked up. Big flakes of snow started to fall. With winds above 25 MPH and temperatures in the single digits, it didn't take long for the snow to mount up. Thursday was near blizzard conditions on the top of the mountain. Friday morning was 6 degrees, but the winds had died down. Cabin Mountain is always a Winter Adventure!
